D'Angelo Russell speaking in an interview

About

D'Angelo Russell

Make no mistake, D'Angelo is a product of Louisville, KY. Russell said during a pre-draft interview,

"I remember being in this position — the same position these kids are in now," Russell said. "I remember guys like [Rajon] Rondo and Derek Anderson, guys like that, giving back to young hoopers like myself."

"I've always wanted to do a camp but wanted to approach it the right way and do something that was sustainable as well," Russel said. "Having the people that we have, that made this and put this together, I think it's a collective group that can hold this thing together as well."

Russell is a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. Russell credits his individual success to his courage and blue-chip work ethic of which was heavily inspired by the late and great Muhammad Ali.

Like Ali, Russell has achieved worldly success at such a young age. Coming out of Ohio State University, Russell made history by becoming 1 of 5 Mcdonald All-Americans, to come out of the city of Louisville. Russell, who speaks Mandarin, is also adding to the basketball culture all over the world. He currently represents Li-Ning of China and continues to work in collaboration with Chinese schools and basketball development.

Russell has a slew of accomplishments and has no intention to slow down. With that said, for a fourth year, Russell is bringing back his knowledge to his hometown in order to impact and influence the next generation of stars.
